General dyno info Posted by Karl [Email] (#161) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Karl) on Fri, 15 Dec 2000 14:18:29 In Reply to: Re: Sport cat/down pipe, Kevin K [Profile/Gallery] , Fri, 15 Dec 2000 12:17:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Generally you'd expect a 10-15 hp gain from a 3" downpipe. What you have after the cat (freeflow of course...) is a matter of personal taste.
The general dyno info I've seen points towards a 2,5" system behind cat being the better for midrange torque, whereas a 3" system outperforms smaller systems in terms of max power. The difference being particularly noticeable at higher rpm's.
Needless to say my 9K has a 3" from turbo and back, currently no cat... Like Bob I'm confident my setup will push 260 minimum. Clutch is slipping and I still do 4,5-5 secs for 100-150 kph. I have also seen 161 mph speedo. So it's pretty darn quick...
