This is from a friend of mine in Stockholm, who drives a 9000CSE, and he's talking about my '93 900T

Check out the following site:
http://www.tuningchip.se
What you need to have done in the US is to have a garage solder on the chip to the mother-board. What would be done is that the existing chip (maybe under your seat) must be removed and replaced by the new one. The existing one is a special one which is to 'down' tune your turbo for the USA regulations.
Seeing as the original (the Swedish) engine would be 185hp, the calculation is with the new chip 185hp + 40hp.
I think that 225hp (165+40 for you) in your little banger might do the trick!
The above home SITE is also in English but on one page concerning the chips for SAABs, the column titles
are in Swedish. All you need to know are 2 of them:
Effektokning : Increased effect
Kravs lodning: Soldering required.
If you're interested, I think the best thing would be to telephone these people at Tuning Chip. You could ask about having double chips so you can switch from the US one to the stronger variant.

Good luck!
