God I HATE the transmission and shifter in the Viggen.

Everything else is now pretty good (with Abbot kit and roll bar)

Aside from being mounted on chewing gum, and bouncing all over the place and wiggling like it's having a seizure as the car hits bumps or just accelerates, being reaaaaaly long throw, and slow and clunky between
gears, I'm now noticing something new to go mental over :)

After fifteen years of driving stick, and never having damaged a clutch,
I find I'm smelling burning clutch fluid way to often these days. I don't get lazy with the clutch and let it slip just for the hell of it, and
I'm not a test pilot with the car for the most part. I'm just talking about a fast start on a steep grade that doesn't make the wheels break free, or
even gentle slipping of the clutch during a delicate parking job..and presto, that evil smell.. it happens more often than I've ever had before. I know I'm not being sloppy, and it DOES say in the Viggen literature that there's an "upgraded" clutch to handle the car's power. So my question is... is this normal.. acceptable? should I just ignore it?

Grumble. This car is soooo ALMOST awesome, but it sure is difecult to
make friends with :)

Any thoughts appreciated. But please don't tell me I'm a lousy standard
driver :) I had a saab 99T (1978) and drove it like a maniac and neverr
heard a peep from the clutch.. not to mention the beemer and Jetta..
OK.. which all seemed fine with my technique .. ok enough whining.

Did I mention that aside from occasional fits of HATE and RAGE, I love this car? :>
