Installing boost control in parallel to APC

I'd like to get some comments on this idea.
Install a boost control device in parallel to the solenoid valve. The reason is that my ECU runs high boost, and I would like a method of controlling this without running at only base boost.
More specifically:
Connect MBC on hose from compressor to solenoid valve with two T-valve junctions.
Set up electricals with a switch so that when power to solenoid is cut off, power to MBC is turned on. Calibrate MBC so that it boosts around 0.8 bar. The hoses to MBC will be as short as possible to avoid impairing normal funtion of solenoid when that is in use.
The result I am hoping for is for two different boost settings.
1. High boost where MBC is turned off and everything is under the ECU's control (about 1.4 bar)
2. Solenoid is turned off, MBC is turned on and boost is controlled by MBC.
I know that the solenoid is fully open when power is cut off to it. I assume that the MBC is closed when power is cut off to it; if on the other hand the MBC is open when not under power, I'm hoping it's positioning will not impair the normal functioning of the solenoid valve -perhaps only require a slight alteration of the base boost setting.
I know this sounds confusing, but I hope I got my point across. I would appreciate comments on the feasibility of this setup.
Thanks
