I have one of these valves and am also waiting for mine to fail.
This is because I have witnessed first hand one failing due to the the "tin foil" like alloy they are made up of.
What happened in the failure I saw was that the piston had actually ground out the housing to the point that it didn't seal any longer. Not what you want from a hundred pounds worth of valve!! ($145)
I definately won't buy another bailey dump valve or even product after seeing firstly how they are constructed (after Dissecting one) and secondly how ridiculously over priced they are.
I think they are aimed more for show rather than being a well constructed BOV such as a Blitz, Forge or HKS valve.
I would check yours carefully to see whether the same thing has happened. If it has I think it has an appointment with the bin.
Maybe you'll be lucky and all you need is a bit of lubrication, I always give mine a bit every now and again, but I really think it sounds like yours may have self destructed as "Dr Jones's" did.
