I ran into these issues too, the smaller dipstick tube works as a filler it just takes some time to do oil changes. The shifter is another one - no internal centering in the 4-speed trans. You may want to install the external centering mechanism and selector rod from a pre-86 car. Thats what I had to do, the shifter was very sloppy without centering. Altho 5-speed shifter does work I don't think it feels right. A 4-speed shifter from an early 900 or 99 may work better. This isnt really a perf post should be in C900 BB.
