Bad springs?

I have relatively new Swedish Dynamics springs in my '88 SPG. All the springs are easily compressed and bouncy, especially the rear ones, even with brand new Konis set very stiff. Also, the ride is very soft, not nearly as harsh as I would have expected. In trying to eliminate this bounce, I have now had two mechanics, both reputable Saab specialists, tell me my springs need replacement. Can anyone offer opinions or suggestions? Should the springs be easily compressed and bouncy? What can I do to eliminate this? Do I need new springs?
Thanks.
