SUCCESS.....I Finally found the cause of my erratic idle problem. If you are having this problem and you have already replaced your AIC Valve, AMM and checked the Throttle Switch and the idle is still erratic, all is not hopeless. Do what I did, check the engine wiring harness coming from the ECU. On the firewall side of the engine, the engine wiring harness runs from the area of the power steering fluid tank, along the edge of the engine block and ducks under the A/C hoses and forward along the fuel rail. Just before it passes under the A/C hoses, the cable harness is secured to a metal tab by a plastic cable tie. The metal tab is held in place by one of the bolts that retain the A/C belt tensioner pully assembly. I had removed the tensioner to replace the bearing in the pully and noticed that the erratic idle had dissapeared. Upon checking the cable harness I found that the metal tab had worn through the cover of the cable harness and the insulation on one or more wires. I wrapped the cable with electrical tape and then a layer of old inner tubing. I then secured the cable harness back in position with a new cable tie. It has now been 5 days with no sign of a return of the erratic idle. Check yours, you might have the same problem, or a related one somewhere else. Good Luck!
