*With the Red Box tweak... I'll still need to adjust the P & F pots after the resistors are in, correct?
Correct
*Will I need a multimeter?
In case you want to make it as close as original 185hp redbox, yes, you´ll need a multimeter.
*Am I getting in too deep with the Red Box tweak?
That should get you to 14psi peak@3100rpm and 11,5psi between 4000 - 5500rpm.
*Should I just stick with adjusting the P & F pots without replacing resistors? Or should I go all out and go RedBox?
Definitely the redbox mod. It is very driveable and the boost curve is nice and flat all the way up.I´d say, redbox + 3barFPR is the best, modest upgrade for a very little amount of money.
With P&F only mod, the boost will fade slowly after 4000rpm.
Of course it´s your choise.
But what ever your choise, make sure you got base boost, timing etc. checked before doing any modifications.
Marko
ps. picture is screenshots from the video of redbox acceleration on 3rd.
Gives you a rough idea what you should get with the mod.
