Don't know whether the mods you're planning to the APC eliminate the active duty cycle where it takes control of boost. If not, this may be helpful:
Beaudreau, Kevin K and others posted suggestions that using a Dawes Device style manual boost controller (MBC) in-line between turbo and boost control valve can "hide" boost from the APC until it reaches a minimum threshold. MBC should be set to open at a pressure well below any possible knock but higher than the 4 or 5 lbs where APC otherwise will begin to allow some boost to escape (thus avoiding boost spikes which are upsettling and potentially hazardous to unprepared or inattentive drivers). Knock control remains active once the boost pushes past the ball and spring valve and APC wakes up.
This worked EXTREMELY well for me. I set pressure at 8 lbs. Results: MUCH faster initial boost rise. By the time the APC "sees" the boost and switches to active duty cycle, she's already starting to fly.
Mods are listed below. The MBC was the last added engine mod and seemed to bring everything to life.
Good luck.
