If you have a turbo then it doesn't matter if the air is following a certain path into the turbo because the turbo is going to chop up its perfect little spiral and compress the air. If some spiral action did make it through the turbo, then the intercooler would kill those advangages. So as Roman already stated, if you could put it right before the throttle body somehow, it could make some unnoticeable difference but this is really only possibly useable on NA cars due to the fact that they have nothing controlling the amount of air that truly gets into the engine at WOT.
