Shift Linkage Mods

So, I got a new shift linkage joint for my 91 9K, and after I had the old one out I decided to modify it and see if there would be any improvement in shift feel. I cut the studs off the outside brackets and then drilled a hole all the way thru in both places. Placing 1mm shims (washers) on the outside I bolted in place using nylock nuts. Crushing the joint and washers so that it was the stock thickness, 20mm. Amazing result, you can actually feel the gears, shift feel is improved dramatically. Downside, it does transmit a small amount of mechanical noise into the car. This needs some working out, but the diff is so great I'll keep workin on this.
