The fact that the boost tapers as rpm goes up is a fuction of the design requirements from SAAB. A T3 will do the same. Both can be mad to work correctly if you do the correct things to the down pipe. On the T3 you must use an external waste gate to keep the waste gate flow from spoiling the flow from the turbine. On the TE05 you only have to use a correctly designed headpipe. The turbo as speced from SAAB must kill boost as rpm increase after 4000rpm. That is why both the T3 and Te05 have the same design for waste gat dump bact to the turbine outlet.
I run a TE05 with a large 16g wheel and love the wasy it preforms. At 1700rpm full throttle I have 2psi boost at 2500rpm I am at 20psi at 4000 to 4400 the back pressure gets higher than the boost,( lower back pressure is where the power is. I haold full boost to redline. It will hold 25psi to redline if desired but it is not needed. With boost coming on early the car has a very usable and broad power band.
For the altitude you play at an early boost and broad power band would be more useful that a high rpm power band that is narrow.
Must add that fact that the turbine is not cliped to give fast spool up.
