Use of Blow Off Valves on T7 equipped cars?

Two different sources of By-Pass and Blow-Off valves state that it is permissible to run a Blow-Off valve on a T7 equipped car IF you plug the by-pass pipe opening in the turbo inlet pipe.
Forge Motorsports says this will work with all Mass Air Flow metered cars.
Speedparts specifically says this will work with the T7 trionic ECU.
Has anyone tried this? Will it work or are they blowing smoke?
Naturally, both web sites also sell machined aluminum plugs just for this purpose.
