Remember, when the oil is cold you essentially have a 15W, and being a synthetic it should flow well into the negative temps. It's a 50W when the engine gets hot. When your engine fully warmed up, it doesn't really matter if it's summer or winter, because the engine's internal temperature will essentially be identical, if your thermostat is working correctly. In fact, if you live in places with cold winters, the standard 92C thermostat should work well with the 15W-50.
