SMBC does not increase peak boost, but makes turbo spool fast. It works with the BPC and APC. This can also be used on a T5, but is the only option on T7s. (A very nice inprovment on the T7 as well!!!)
MBC+A search for that, and drs_anticipator, here and on the 9-3BBs and read.
A MBC or MBC+A will have the BPC isolated and not functional. The ECU works very well with the T5 by adjusting the mixture and timing to avoid knocking. Reducing the boost is only needed if something is otherwise very wrong. With higher boost, you never want to run less than premium fuel. Plugs need to be top condition, use 7ES's and keep injectors clean to get the best AF mixing.
The T5boost4 will provide more power, but will do nothing at all about controller induced boost lag. So a MBC will make a vehicle !much faster! than the T5boost4! There is no room to argue there. And with the MBC+A, there are no longer any issues with fuel cuts or boost droop at higher RPMs. It is the *perfect boost* solution.
