With a bike, the operator has full control of all variables and a skilled rider can invariably outperform any abs system. A rider controls each wheel independently and can also adjust his own weight distribution. With a car- your loading on each tire changes dramatically with lateral and accellerative g-forces, but the single brake pedal makes little distinction in brake force distribution. That's where the beauty of a well-engineered anti-lock system lies. It's not so much in the anti-lock capabilities, but in the variable brake force distribution. It's all about putting the brake forces to which wheels can handle the most decelerative force, and that is a continuously changing element in most any situation.
