You'll probably get better feedback on this in the c900 forum... but...
Your car is currently an 8v engine, running Bosch K-Jet fuel injection. You can swap in the 8vT motor from the '83 with little problem, using your existing electronics. You could rather easily wire in the APC system "externally" and develop your own wiring - there aren't many components involved - or you could run without APC and a reasonably conservative boost setting.
If you want to run the 16v engine, you're in for some additional fun. One option would be to adapt the CIS injection scheme to the 16v motor, the other would be to adapt a 16v wiring harness to your 8v car. Either way is a fair amount of work, though in my opinion adapting the wiring would be the easier task...
All that said, you're going to want to check your local emissions laws. In California, it would be almost definitely illegal to install the 8vT engine in the '87, whereas you'd have no issues installing the 16v engine. The former swap would require at the very least paperwork and a few trips by a referee station, the latter would require almost nothing.
