timing & boost: aid v. msd v. distro mod Posted by michael [Email] (#1365) [Profile/Gallery] (more from michael) on Sun, 17 Apr 2005 10:51:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
'91 900tc: yet another timing question...after setting the timing to the stock 16'(from the 10-11' it was at), my boost is now not even reaching red, whereas before it was mid-red (and fast). so it looks like i need a method to retard timing under boost while retaining some advance otherwise. looks like i have 3 options, need to know which is best.
1. modify distro. this is probably what i'll do initially, as it's free. cons are (apparently) that it dumps too much retard at once resulting in an early dead spot.
2. G9 AID: seems better than above, with gradual retard. looks cool, appears to be easy install.
3. msd-btm: this looks nice because it's adjustable, so if i can change it depending on whether i'm running super v regular gas, hot v cold day, etc. it looks to be a bit more complicated install, not as clean as the aid.
anything i'm missing here? which is better (and why) of the btm and aid? thanks!
