I did a fair amount of testing this past weekend on the C900 after installing my wideband 02 kit/data logger. My engine is highly modified for moderate track events.
I have discovered that above 4500 RPM with a 3.0 bar regulator, FoMoCo red injectors, G9 intercooler, 18-20 PSI (among several other things)...
...I go lean. In some cases 15-16 A/F. I am starving for fuel. I have been able to provide short term nourishment via an alcohol injection kit which I had to set at maximum. This briefly brought the A/F back down to 13 or so, but not the 10.5 - 12 that I want.
So, As usual, Brad is correct (not that I ever doubted him). Even with all the trimmings, a highly modified c900 simply does not have the high boost/rpm fuel capability required for racing (I do track events with the porsche club).
What's more, midrange RPM at WOT goes terribly rich, down to sub 10 A/F (unreadable on my logger). My resistor mod provides *some* assistance, but even with the pot turned up to 1kohm, the WOT richness issue still exists.
I have all the data recorded on my laptop, and data doesnt lie. I either need an additional fuel injector or an after market EFI system...Either way, I need to get with JAK and try to fix my midrange maps. How's the LH. 2.4 stuff going? ;-)
I am running an aftermarket EEPROM, but have discovered it does not provide me with what I want/need for proper performance.
An RRFPR may help at the top end, but I am worried that at midrange max boost, the engine will be even richer than it is now.
Any comments?
