You could cause damage to your firewall if you do not have your clamp screwed in all the way. You should also check to make sure that it is screwed in properly because it can come loose, if installed without loctite. How it damages the firewall is that it is so loose that it rocks back and forth when accelerating. You should also feel the alignment of the car being thrown off and drift into other lanes of traffic.
If you have a MP Performance clamp also check to ensure you do not have one of earlier models in which the adhesive can become loose allowing the rubber to slide out. If the rubber is sliding out just contact MP and they will send you another unit.
Your problem however seem like it is neither of the one listed above. The clamp and brace are located on the right side of the engine bay. If you hearing sounds from the left and right side of the engine bay it would rule out the clamp and brace. I would also assume that this is the first thing that the dealer would check.
You might want to check this out by your self with a friend. If one person is inside the car and the other outside in the engine bay you might be able to figure out where the sound is coming from.
