The engine is not being broken in, it's got some decent miles on it already. I drove it to SOC last year and back, ran like a champ. I think that run was maybe 3000km or so. And it's my summer/spring/fall daily driver.
As for tuning...never finished. As I indicated, our best available fuel is 91 octane, and it's pretty dirty to compared to similarly available stuff in the US. Pity. Even across the provincial border in BC you can get 94, which pisses me off because we have all the refineries here in Alberta! Doh! :) My opinion is that I have reached the limits of the current hardware and fuel combination. With race gas - cheapo 111 leaded - I've gotten 40hp more - but that was on my old T3-60 turbo with internal gate. The race gas allows basically all the boost desired and hugely more aggressive timing.
Like I said, the cure for the relatively poor fuel is alcohol injection. Just a matter of finding the time and money to do it. I meant to do it last summer...then it was last winter...now looks like I'll do it this coming winter.
As for compressor side temps...dunno. My only air temp sender is between the IC and the throttle body. On the dyno that was showing about 38*C. I've seen similar on the street on a warm day.
