There is no hugh performance gain when switching from the stock Bosch by-pass valve (BPV) to the aftermarket BPV, unless the stock BPV is not working properly.
The real gain from the aftermarket BPV is that the valve can handle higher boost pressures without leakage or failure and is easily cleaned/rebuilt allowing for a long, useful life. Many aftermarket BPV also allow for fine tuning of the opening point.
