They use a new 3rd gear & I forget what the other new part is, about $1200 for those 2 pieces from Saab Sweden
They then shotpeen all gears & whatever that other part is that I can't remember it's name
I think they also cryo-treat them as well but not 100%
They gear the trans so it's VERY similar to a 4 speed like what I use/used.
your best bet is to call Scanwest & talk to the guy who builds them. They developed them because every rally their trans would break so they slowly figured out where the problem areas are & thus they have their present product. Their trans is about $4,000 if you use a phantom grip LSD & also have them drill the diff cover for a trans cooler. If you do not want the phantom grip or their upgraded diff cover + hving it drilled it's about $3,000 for the box & takes at least a month to build due to the delay of getting parts from Sweden :)
