Almost all the Sonett III's I've seen have problems with the headlight circuit. The connectors get corroded and go bad, and the grounds get broken off. Fixes that people do can get pretty ugly!
My car had some problem circuits that were repaired improperly. I bought this car a couple of years ago, and there was a big cutoff switch installed in the plastic gear shift console, cutting all power from the battery. I tracked down a previous owner and he told me he installed it because of a short he could never track down. That made me very very nervous, so I decided to tackle it this spring. After much time, I found the root cause- a miswired heater fan rely that was drawing current all the time. I then fixed various other poorly done repairs. A nice electric fuel pump was installed...and wasn't fused. Thinks like that. Very time consuming!
Once again Jack Ashcraft's VSaab Electrics Book was priceless!
