Just looked at your pictures. I agree with NorSonett, it looks like your hood was removed and the linkage arm was not aligned and put thru the slot you see in the frame, above the pull rod. It's not a big deal, but it will likely require unbolting your hood to get enough free space to put the linkage arm thru the slot. The adjustment arm is supposed to have a "T" slot in it and that arm bolts the the side of the frame in the slot below the one for the linkage arm. The pull rod should have a small sleeve that is just big enough diameter to fit snugly in the hole at the end of the linkage arm. The length of the sleeve should just fit between the ends of the pull rod. A small bolt and lock nut holds everything together. All the bolts and lock nuts are SAE standard fasteners.
