Yep, both you chaps are correct. the CL LPS stands for Clearance Lamps (parking lights) and the AUX switch is indeed for the auxiliary lamps that were/are placed behind the grille.
If memory serves, when switched on, they were originally wired to be in sync with the low beams, and when the high beams were engaged, they were turned off.
