I just did this a few weeks ago so trust me i know the feeling... What I did was i loosened the motor mount on the starter side and jacked the front of the car up, put it on stands, and then jacked the engine up from the bottom, there is a notch about a half an inch wide that i used to jack it up at. Then I slid the starter in, it took a little fanagling but if you put it in at an angle then straighten it out it makes it easier. I hope that this helps.
