Can't comment on AC since my Sonett III is not so equipped, but I'd don't find my car all that uncomfortable in the heat. At 90+ of course it's going to be uncomfortable, but so long as the car is moving it's Ok into the mid to high 80's. Perhaps it's because my other vintage car is an MGB-GT which is like an oven. In that car I pulled up the carpet and installed "Peel & Seal" silver foil / asphalt thermal/sound insulation (to the point that the interior looked like the lunar landing module) but it made only a marginal difference.
