Some time after reading that transaxle autopsy, I noticed on a Jack Ashcraft Blog that he claimed he had to rebuild a rebuilt tran because of over-tightening of the shaft nuts. He didn't refer to the transaxle autopsy that says to exceed the specs, but it kind of left that impression. There is also confusing spacing specs prior to the tightening that may be the key to not killing it. I did notice a few other Ashcraft blogs that started out instructional and then turned into "how it's going to go wrong if you do it yourself". (no disrespect meant to Jack). I'm left confused as to if I should mess with the tran adjustments or not.
