Yes, thats a Pertronix Ignitor breakerless ignition. :-)
Ok, so if it worked before, did you do any work on the car recently in that part?
Make sure the two cables from the Ignitor are connected properly:
red wire goes to + on the coil
black wire goes to - on the coil
The conncetion to the carburettor idle cutoff valve is okay, but you need to make sure that the red wire is connected with the + side of the coil. So I would think a routing like this:
cable from + side on coil to the ignitor and to the carb idel cuttoff. Doesn't matter if in line or parellel I think. Just make sure all is connected, no interruptions or loose ends.
Hm, the 1.8 ohms is a little low. Pertronix suggests to run a 3.0 ohm coil for 4 and 6 cylinder enginges while they suggest a 1.5 ohm coil for 8 cylinders.
So it seems a good idea to have a closer look there, maybe replace the coil with a suitable one. Can you borow one for test purposes?
Also, make sure the distributor cap and finger are okay or just replace them with quality parts (BOSCH should be the best option in my opinion).
Hope this helps! :-)
BR,
Erik
