I swapped the sealed beam lamps in the S-II for a pair of H4 lenses and reflectors, then plugged in some "sylviapennsylvania' LED capsules from a local 'Oh, Really'? No other changes or conversions were needed.
I was concerned that the larger diameter back end with its fan might not fit into the S-II pod, along with the umbilical mounted male pin end, but it all went together nicely.
The added luminosity is a big deal. The reduction in power consumption (55 watts to about 15!) will aid in dropping night time alternator load. I also swapped out the running lights and brake lights to LED, but kept the incandescent directionals due to flasher relay load issues.
