Where do you start to fix it? I'd start at the clutch pedal. Check and see if it might have rusted onto the pivot shaft. (There's an oil hole in sleeve that goes around the shaft, so you can oil it, but lots of people forget.) Have a look and see if it looks clean, or check that it moves. One way to check this is to unclip the pushrod that goes to the slave cylinder (remove cotter pin, then push out pin from sleeve) and see if the pedal will move at all. If it won't, you'll have to remove both the brake and clutch pedals, pull out the shaft, clean everything up and lube it, and put it all back together. Tedious but not hard, and it's a cheap fix!
If that's okay, move forward to checking the clutch slave cylinder to see if it might have seized. You can push that pushrod you just unclipped to see if it moves. And/or you can flip back the rubber boot where the slave cylinder mounts onto the bell housing, and watch to see if the piston has any movement at all. If you can't move the piston even a bit, it may have seized in the slave cylinder. Not good, means rebuilding the slave cylinder, which isn't too hard but rebuild kit isn't easy to find.
Third place you could be having trouble is with the clutch itself. Sometimes the clutch just gets stuck together (especially if the car has sat a long time.) There are various scary ways you can try to bust it loose, such as bumping the car while it's in gear; jacking up the front, running the engine with the wheels turning, and slamming on the brakes a few times; etc., etc. Didn't we have a thread on this a while back?
