TAKE NOTE: If you cut up the old windshield seal you may be in for a surprise when installing a new one. The current extruded rubber seal that can be had at any auto glass shop ($75.00), or ordered from Ashcraft ($118.00)is not a replica. Missing are the nice tight mitered bottom corners. You WILL have to reuse those corners, to have then vulcanized onto the new rubber, or else the glass will NOT go in. Better to save your old rubber seal, restore it. Then get a new chrome lock strip to dress it up. I have been thru the mill on this. The current windshield replacements are NOT of the same curvature as the original. I had one break when the installer found it had a badly shaped corner. Yet Motorsports Sweden (Mats) came through and shipped a replacement, and it slipped in just like a charm! Man, it looks great. And the view through a new piece of glass is a vast improvement, much safer too.
The back window seal is available and not expensive at all. There is a Portland area vendor of the bulb rubber. Write me if you need their phone. -Jeff (mail@plummerdesign.com)
