...might as well check the front suspension and brakes while you're there -- changing brake pads, replacing shock absorbers, etc., CAN be done with the nose on, but it's a LOT easier with it off!
This also is a good time to take a hard look at the front end plates on the rocker panels and see if there's any sign of rust. If you let this go, it's a big job to fix; catch it early and you may be able to get away with just a patch. Again, much easier to do with nose off.
Last act before refitting the nose should be to check/clean/fix the electrical connectors on either side, the ones that connect the lights in the nose to the wiring harrness in the body. They're hard to reach once the nose is back on, and it's very frustrating to wrestle the nose into place and then find that some of your lights don't work. Especially look for loose terminals inside the connector block -- often one or two will want to push out the back instead of connecting when you push the two halves of the connector together.
