Mine did this. It was rusted onto the pedal shaft. What surprised me was that it only sat for about 9 months, but that was enough to rust it *SOLID* onto the shaft. I removed the pedal assembly and pins and really whack the hell out of it to get the shaft free. Then I used a stiff wire brush to really clear the rusted parts out, and soaked it really good in oil. I painted the external pedal parts it with Corroless anti-rust crap, hoping to ward off as much future rust as possible. Works great now...
On a somewhat related note, does anyone else have problems with the throttle linkage and or pedal arm being loose or binding? Should the "roller link" on the gas pedal bottom out on the diagonal firewall-floor cover piece thing? Does bending the roller-pedal rod up help or would that cause problems? My pedal is smooth once I get past the initial binding, but it makes for some neck-snapping starts!
