I want to note first off that I am not a mechanic so I don't really know much about car restoration. I've always wanted to get a classic sports car as a 2nd car and have been thinking that a Sonett would go nicely with my NG900 convertible.
I'm hoping to get answers to the following questions:
1. How much should I expect to pay for a Sonett 3 that is in running condition and needs only some minor work?
2. How much is that minor work going to cost? What is the yearly upkeep cost of a car like this if it is driven everyday? once a month? Does upkeep cost go up significantly if parked outside under a tarp or cover versus in a garage?
3. Is a Sonett a good car to work on in terms of learning how to fix a car? Keep in mind that right now I pretty much know how to change burnt out headlights and put the spare tire on when I get a flat.
4. Is there a modern day car that drives similarly to the Sonett? They aren't exactly the easiest things to find to take a test drive in. Alternatively, is there anybody in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area that has a Sonett and would be willing to take me for a ride as a passenger just so I can get some kind of feel for it before buying one?
Thanks for putting up with what may seem like some silly newbie questions.
