As for the fuel pump...
I've got a Fecet solid state electric fuel pump in SONEAT. It's been in there since 1985 and has never been a problem (apart from vapor lock on a 102 degree day at the '86 Saab convention in Atlanta).
You can usually get this pump from most any auto parts store though I know for sure that Pegasus <http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/HOME.html> carries it.
It looks like this.

You'll need a pressure regulator to go with it.
Directions to wire it up should come with it. I rana wire right to the fuse block and put a switch in to tuirn on the fuel pump before I cranked the ignition... to be sure I had a head of pressure in the line.
