I've said it before but this topic always comes up again...
You can get decent rubber under the Sonett fenders. *At least under Sonett II V4 fenders, which is the only Sonett I have experience with.
The following is with stock springs and stock fenders.
On soccerball wheels (4.5" wide) I run street rubber in the 185-65-15 size and have no rubbing issues whatsoever.
On the minilite style wheels off of an '80 model 96 (5" wide) I am currently running 205-50-15 R-compound autocross rubber. No rubbing in the rear at all, and only very light rubbing on the spring at the front when the wheel is unloaded AND turning (at the same time).
I USED to run 225-50-15 R-compound rubber on the same wheels up front. No fender rubbing at all and slightly more rubbing on the springs when the wheel was unweighted and turning.
I've heard that the Sonett III's might tend to have slightly less clearance in the fiberglass?
