This in response to a ? in august by John. I finally got around to moving the hand brake. My first thought was to try and shorten the cable from the top end but when you slide the base back far enough to clear the shifter there's not enough room for a decent splice. I wound up cutting 7.5" off the cable at the brake and using little lead cable stoppers to replace the little ball on the end. I used 2 stoppers on each cable. and left a 1/4" of cable sticking out. Spread this cable slightly and mix somthing like JB Weld in amongst the strands. this should keep it from pulling back through the stoppers. I also needed to bridge the small trough at the front mount with a small plate to keep the height of the handle even with the seats. I drilled holes and screwed every thing down but will soon have it welded. Seems to be working fine.
