Sonett Fans,
I added a sway bar to the rear of my 72 Sonett III, last week.
And stiffened up the rear springs a bit while at it.
What a huge difference!
Yesterday we had a test and tune and the car felt much better.
Much better than the weather and the new location we raced on.
An old, 15 acre , National Gaurd helicopter lot that looked like it hadn't seen use since the Vietnam War..
The weather cancelled our test and tune... lightning scared all but those of us in 'glass cars off the airport!
Today, we had 200 entrants, no rain after 6 AM and 40-50 mph winds to dry things out.
My Sonett handled great. I shaved at least a second sometimes 1.5 with each run. I was able to hold a tighter line every run.
Still way off class times, but we have some FSP cars that should be running prepared...
But I was able to feel good after each run. And I know there are more seconds to beat when my race wheels come in.
Thanks Kent! The bar worked great!
Thanks Chris and Steve for your sound advice..
So many cones.. so few weekends..
