I think when I repaced my front bearings years ago I had to buy a 1 1/8" or maybe it was a 1 1/4" socket to remove those nuts. If I remember right I had someone pushing on the brake pedal and/or I used a 2x4 (on edge?) wedged between two of the lug nuts on the hub and the floor (to prevent the hub from turning). I had to stand/jump on a long snipe (pipe) with a breaker bar attached to the socket to break the nut free, but it worked without damaging the nut.
