There's been a lot of discussion about aftermarket replacement wheels for vintage Saabs (95,96,97). I was hunting down a set for my '68 Sonett V4 when I found Highgate Saab of the U.K. Thought I had struck gold, but here's my sad story:
I wrote to Chris at VSSAB:
Thanks for the info Chris. BTW, I just got an email from Highgate; it implies that they no longer manufacture or market these wheels,...too bad. I would have bought a set, and I'm sure that from all of the discussion that's come down the line, there are more than a few others who are interested as well. I'm going to forward this to the TSN and VSAAB newsgroups. Maybe someone here in the U.S. or elsewhere (a wheel mfg. perhaps?) will "pick up" the ball" and go with it. Alan.
Here's what they wrote:

Hi Alan
The Alloys will fit all Sonett II / III / 95 /96 V4's.
unfortunately we no longer manufacture them. But we will shortly be
putting the manufacturing rights & moulds up for sale on ebay, so they
may become available through another outlet in the future.
Kind regards

Subject: Highgate Alloy wheel ( 95/96 )
Dear sirs,
A quick question regarding your alloy wheels for the model 95/96:
>From the photo, these appear to be of the 5 bolt pattern. Will these
wheels also fit the Saab 97 (Sonett II, V4, & III)?
Are they still priced at 145 pounds each? I'm in the U.S., so I'm
assuming that I wouldn't have to pay the VAT. Is this a correct
assumption? Any idea as to what a set of 4 would cost to ship to
California (USA)?
Thanks for your help.
Sincerely,
Alan K
