Yes, you guessed correctly. Some fluctuation up and down around "N" is normal, but creeping all the way up to the red zone IS in my experience with four Sonetts a sign that your thermostat is on it's way out. Replacing it should stabilize the temperature. If you have a stock manifold this is also relatively easy, and accessible from on top of the engine. You might want to remove the hood (not the nose) for easier access. Good luck. Michael
