OK, Sonett III did not come from the factory with a manual choke, so, either somecone converted your FoMoCo carb to manual, or you have some type of Weber carb installed.
Pull the air cleaner off and look at the right side of the carb. Is there a puddle of raw gas on top of the manifold? If so, your carb is leaking, and needs a rebuild kit. Check your oil, and smell the oil for a strong gas smell. Pull a spark plug, and check the condition. Is it sooty and wet? Pull off the distributor cap, and pull off the rotor. Is is black and scorched? If you have had had your Sonett for a year, you may want to consider a spark plug, cap, and rotor replacement just to rule that out as a problem. I find myself replacing plugs on my V-4s quite often. With a manual choke, if it's run too rich, the plugs will foul, and lead to hard starting.
On my 1967 Mod 96 with a Weber carb on a 1700 V-4 motor, when I start it, I pull the choke OUT, pump the accelerator pedal twice, and turn the key. If it doens't fire up, I push the choke IN 1/2 way, and turn the key.
