Sorry, I guess I ought to update that info. I haven't had much luck lately getting stuff from my Ford Industrial dealer. The last time I was looking for stuff, the parts guy told me that while there are still some of these Ford V4 engines around (running things such as air compressors, jobsite arc welders, etc.) they're getting to be pretty old now, and parts are often hard to source.
Anyway, the only real advantage to buying from an industrial dealer rather than a SAAB specialist is that sometimes it's a quick way to get a part you need in a hurry, such as a gasket. And the only way it saves you time is if you're buying from a dealer in YOUR area. You can find out if there's one nearby by checking your Yellow Pages under "Engines" and seeing if there's a Ford industrial engine dealer listed.
It's a long shot, but if you live in farm country you might also try calling a big farm-supply company; I think there are still some V4 engines powering pumps for pipe-and-ditch irrigation systems.
Some people have told me that a company called Northern Power Products carries a lot of V4 stuff, but I've never tried them and don't know how to contact them (maybe someone else will post the info.)
If I needed anything kind of hard to find such as a timing gear set, though, I'd probably start out by calling a vintage-Saab specialist such as Motor Sports Service or West of Sweden SAAB.
