The rear body is held onto the chassis with rivets and "moose snot" (black caulk.) There's a specific procedure for removing it. If you buy the Sonett supplement to the shop manual (WOS sells copies, and sometimes they turn up on eBay) it spells out the whole procedure. Tip I've heard from others: Take the windshield out first; there's a fairly high risk of breaking the windshield while removing the rear body, and Sonett windshields are hard to get!
