Ok, so I've been looking to buy a Sonett III for a while now, and there were a couple on Ebay. I bid on one and it's getting down to the wire with only mere minutes left on the clock. Bidding is in the the low 2k range heading for the mid 2k range when I bail. After all, it did need work, and it was not as close to me as another one I know of online elsewhere that I like better.
So anyway I lose the auction yesterday, but get this, the winner is a buyer from Sweden and at the last minute he beats out another bidder with an over $3600 bid. Wow, what was the point? It was a nice car, very nice interior and all, but the history on the car is unknown and at that price there are Sonetts right here on Saabnet that are actually running! I guess he really wanted that particular car.
My next step is to call this morning about a Sonett II V4 that's listed (and linked on atleast one other site) for a little more than I really want to spend but it is OBO so what the heck, I'll drive over and take a look since it's so darn close. Some of you may have seen the listing if you cruised the net at all looking at Sonetts, it was the red one in VT. with the side pipes. Well I should have known, it was sold a while ago.
This makes two strikes now but my favorite one is still out there and I know it's still for sale and no, I'm not telling where either. Don't want to jinx myself now, do I?! ;-)
