Thanks for the reply. Do you know how much weight you took off the Flywheel. My Chilton book shows how to take off 5# but I thought I had read that would affect driveability. I initially was considering the cam but my concern about the emission test caused a rethink. Do you have to pass emissions? Information about 1500 vs 1700 emissions would help. I'm pretty sure the 1700 is less polluting, but by how much. Is there enough wiggle room to raise compression, add a mild cam or both. I don't want to be anywhere close to those limits. While driving is the most fun thing I do, going to the emissions station for both my old cars is the most nauseating. You have to let a "technician" drive it through the test and by time I'm out of there I feel violated. I do have some of Jack's writings on rebuilds that came with a service manual I bought on ebay, but not complete. Lots of useful information though. My exaust is also pretty loud but I love the tone. I had it frabricated at a local shop and has only one muffler. Thanks again.
