Larry,

You really have no idea how funny the "green" comment is!!! Yes, this is my first Sonett (assuming you don't count my Green '72 parts car). As Bill can attest, my search is filled with a number of funny stories about green cars. lol And, BOY does my wife just LOVE the color of our '72. lol For a while, I was absolutely certain that I was destined to find a green driver.

The car I found is California Burgundy, so its a '73. Never fear, I'll be sure to post LOTS of pictures once I get the car back home. Tom Cox checked the car out for me since its about 6 hrs from my home and not too far from him. I've seen a number of pictures of it and I've spoken to the owner for...well...months before buying it. There's a crazy soap opera of a story behind the whole transaction that almost sounds too incredible to be true.

Nevertheless, here I am...and there it is...in MD...waiting for me to come get it on Saturday. Tom and the pictures confirm that the interior is more or less immaculate (although the headliner is sagging). The paint is in good shape for its age but far from perfect. As far as Tom and I can tell, its in very good condition. Its not a recent restoration but it seems to have been well maintained for, at least, the past 23 or so years. I'll have a better idea when I see it for myself on Saturday morning - assuming I can even get into it! lol

And, as for the lock, thanks for your suggestion. I've gotten a lot of great responses to my posting here and elsewhere. This is an amazing community! I really hope that I can give back as much as people have given already just in terms of lending an open ear, offering advice, checking out the car, etc. Bill has probably seen more late night ramblings from me than he should have seen in a life time! lol

-Eric
